THE NEW 2015 SUBRARU OUTBACK

The new 2015 Subaru Outback comes five generations and exactly 20 years after the original crossover was launched in the Big Apple. And much has changed over the years. The Legacy has gotten larger, roomier, more powerful and more lavishly equipped with each remake. That holds true this time around, noted Tom Doll, President and CEO of the maker’s U.S. subsidiary. 

The exterior of the 2015 model reflects Subaru’s ambitions to boost sales and make the remake seem a bit more “premium.” It takes on a faster-looking silhouette, with a slimmer A-pillar that improves visibility. One thing not immediately visible: aerodynamics-enhancing active grille shutters.

The all-new Outback features a spacious 143.6 cubic feet of interior room with soft-touch surfaces and upgraded materials. It also includes an available 10-way adjustable power driver's seat with memory function, and the 60/40-split fold-down rear seats with cargo-area release levers make sure there's enough room for whatever the trip requires, pets included.

If faulted in past, critics felt the Outback interior was a bit Spartan. Now a bit more premium feel with the use of better materials, including soft-touch fabrics, thicker cushioning and improved center console and other trim give the new Outback a more premium feel.

Or at least keep even, which is what the company did with its new infotainment system. Using a 6.2-inch touchscreen, the Outback incorporates the SubaruThe all-new Outback features a spacious 143.6 cubic feet of interior room with soft-touch surfaces and upgraded materials.  A standard rear-vision camera enhances rear visibility when backing up. Its display includes guide lines to help you see the vehicle's path and judge distance to other objects.The available EyeSight® driver assist technology system  monitors traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns you when you're swaying outside your lane. It can even help slow down the car or bring it to a complete stop when danger is lurking. Another way Subaru designs vehicles with your safety in mind.Using radar sensors, the new Blind-Spot Detection system warns you if it senses a vehicle within your blind spot, while the new Rear Cross-Traffic Alert  lets you know if there is traffic approaching from the side as you are backing up.
