TESLA MODEL X GETS FALCON DOORS

Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has exclusively revealed to Auto Express plans for a new electric BMW 3 Series rival, including its name – Tesla Model 3.Electric sports car manufacturer Tesla has released details of its all-new Model X. The seven-seat SUV is designed as a zero-emissions alternative to the likes of the Audi Q7, while being faster from 0-62mph than most sports cars.

The Model X is expected to offer similar performance figures to the Model S on which it's based. This means it could be capable of going from 0-62mph in just 5.6 seconds.

The SUV's batteries are hidden beneath the floor to maximise space. There's a second boot under the bonnet, which means the Model X is able to seat seven adults across three rows, and their luggage.

While the Model S is rear-wheel drive, the Model X has been fitted with a new all-wheel-drive system. The electric motors - one on each axle - send power to the correct wheel to maintain traction without sacrificing acceleration.

The Model X gets ‘Falcon’ doors. The gullwing arrangement allows the doors to operate in extremely tight spots while on the inside, there's a 17-inch touchscreen display, leather seats and a panoramic roof So I said we had the model S and X,

“We were going to call it model E for a while and then Ford sued us saying it wanted to use the Model E – I thought this is crazy, Ford’s trying to kill  word sex! So we’ll have to think of another name like x or 3  x is better choice.
The new model is going to be called Model 3, we’ll have three bars to represent it and it’ll be S ,III  X!” one these will on the new model.
