THE EXCELLENCE OF THE 2015 JAGUAR XF

The Jaguar XF is a mid-size luxury sedan that distinguishes itself from its rivals by placing a greater emphasis on high style inside and out. Dynamic handling and a plush interior are also among the four-door's strong suites.

The XF comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that some reviewers think could deliver power more smoothly. A supercharged V6 is available in XF 3.0 trims, and test drivers say these models are very potent, while the Jaguar XF Supercharged has a supercharged V8 that reviewers say delivers extraordinary acceleration. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard in all models, and automotive journalists report that it shifts smoothly.

The 2014 Jaguar XF 2.0T gets an EPA-estimated 19/30 mpg city/highway, which is about average for a luxury large car. Test drivers think the XF handles well for the class, cornering like a lighter and more nimble car. They also agree that the XF’s ride is comfortable without being too soft.

The base XF comes standard with automatic Xenon headlights, headlight washers, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming door mirrors, dual-zone climate control, six-way power-adjustable front seats, keyless entry and start, a hard drive-based navigation system, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a garage door opener, a seven-inch touch screen,Bluetooth connectivity, a 380-watt Meridian sound system with 12 speakers ,a blind spot monitoring system an electric parking brake and shift paddles.

Besides the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, the XF Supercharged brings adaptive high beams, electrochromic door mirrors, a 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat, cooled and ventilated front seats and an 825-watt Meridian surround sound system that plays through no less than 17 speakers.

Numerous options are available, with highlights including different leather and aluminum/wood trim choices and a radar-based adaptive cruise control system that automatically accelerates or brakes as necessary to maintain a set distance from the car in front.

A trio of option packages are also available. These include the Vision Pack which includes a Blind Spot Monitor, Adaptive Front Lights, Intelligent High Beams and an auto-dimming rear view mirror; the Premium Pack, which adds a navigation system with voice command functionality, a 12-speaker, 380-watt Meridian sound system, front and rear parking aids, Adaptive Front Lighting and a proximity key; and the Interior Sport Pack, which brings 18-way driver and 14-way adjustable front seats in soft brain leather, and bright pedal trim.

Every XF model comes with dual front, side and side curtain airbags, ABS, traction and stability control systems, an emergency brake assist system and a valet mode that limits the car to low speeds.
